Good stuff. I'm just wondering, when will we be able to apply for the army? Also, we need to come up with a noble system too. I love the idea of just like coming to an event wearing like, noble clothes. I don't know why. Just think it would be badass.

I planned to cover a lot more in this document, but I had thought johns proposition covered more. It does seem to address all the same issues, so turns out it was finished.

Military Ranks

Mercenaries- Those who have been known to fight with the northern guard, but do not desire, or meet the requirements necessary to have a military title.

Initiate- Someone who has expressed interest in attaining the rank of Warwick, the first official military title in the Northern Guard.

Warwick- An initiate must possess the basic equipment needed to serve in the army. This means at a minimum: A basic passable garb outfit, and at least one passable weapon. They are required to follow all rules and regulations of the chapter, as written in the Mandate. No other requirements are needed to attain this rank.

Templar- A title to be given to a warwick when they have shown exceptional dedication and skill on the battlefield. A warwick must complete the trial of cleansing successfully to achieve this rank.

**Senior Templar- A rank bestowed by the King and High Chancellor on the most esteemed of the Templars. The reasons for this distinction are at their discretion.

High Constable- An elite soldier of the army. On the battlefield, a High Constable is second only to the Field Marshal and the king. A High Constable is required to have two full sets of garb. One should be of above average quality, as would be expected of a highly regarded member of the Northern Guard. In addition to his sash, a soldier will be awarded a tabard of the high constables. Must have passed both the trial of cleansing and the trial of fire consecutively.

**Senior High Constable- A rank bestowed by the King and High Chancellor on the most esteemed of the high constables. The reasons for this distinction are at their discretion.

Field Marshal- The commander of all field units. All soldiers must obey his orders. Required to possess a full set of high quality garb representative of his status, along with the tabard of a field marshal. This position can only be acquired by a majority vote from all official members of the army, and the approval of the king.

"Elite Guard"- This distinguished title is separate from the command structure listed above. This title is awarded to the three best individual fighters in the army. Every six months the northern guard will hold a contest to determine which three are honored with this title. Any fighter of any military rank can earn this title.

-If the king is on the field, he has the right to supersede the field marshal, and take over command if he so chooses.

-The Field Marshal may relinquish command to a high constable at his choosing. That high constable may relinquish command to a templar at his choosing, and so on.

-If it is believed that someone should be stripped of their title, a vote shall be taken at the next council meeting.

-Should the Field marshal fall in battle, command is automatically given to the Senior high constable.

-All members of a given rank are responsible for monitoring and correcting behaviors of those holding rank below them.

Political Ranks

[Political Ranks can only be held by members of the army. This means Warwick or higher. These should not be considered positions of power, but instead positions of responsibility. ]

King- Supreme Ruler of the land. Responsible for running all major aspects of the chapter.

High Chancellor- Highest ranking position. Holds same responsibilities as the king, and serves as supreme ruler in his absence. Can only be appointed by a majority vote from all members of the Guard, including that of the king, or current high chancellor to be impeached. Only one high chancellor can serve at any one time.

Magister- Must have served as a lord for 6 months, maintain 50% attendance, and win a majority vote, including that of the High Chancellor or King. Only 3 magisters can serve at any one time. If three magisters already exist, A magister must be expelled by popular vote. (by more votes than any other Magister, but it doesn't have to be the majority.)

Lord- Base rank for council members. They are permitted to vote for political figures. Must be a member of the Guard (the military), and have maintained a minimum of 50% attendance at practices for the last 2 months.

-Individuals holding the above positions will serve on the high council. Major changes and decisions for the chapter will be decided by the council. For a motion to pass, one of the following must occur: 1.)A passing vote from the king, and a passing vote from either the high chancellor or majority of magisters. 2.)A passing vote from the High Chancellor, and Unanimous passing votes from the magisters. 3.)Unanimous passing votes from all the magisters and lords present.

-All council members are granted equal opportunity to present and persuade their side of the case. A lord has as much voice in a discussion as the king or chancelor, and should be listened to with equal credence.

-Any issue to be discussed at council must be determined before the council ceremony begins.

-If any magister is not present during council, the lords will vote for one of their own to fill in.

-The time of a council ceremony must be agreed upon my both the High Chancellor and the King. Both must be present for a council ceremony to take place.

-in depth discussion of an issue scheduled to be discussed at council should be avoided.

-If possible, council will meet every fourth week. (once a month)

Trails-

Trail of cleansing- A trial largely of endurance. A Guard member faces 20 opponents consecutively in a "gladiator" type circle. As soon as one defeated opponent exits the circle, the next enters. defeated opponents should lie dead for a few seconds, and then exit the circle with haste. An individual undergoing the trial would be permitted to take up to 4 weapons (including shields) in to the circle, but there will be no break to change armaments. You must win 10 of your fights to pass this trial. Through your exhaustion, you will be "cleansed."

Trial of fire- A trial of one who wishes to attain the rank of High Constable. two teams of five will be created. The templar will be charged with arming and commanding one of these teams. He gets first choice of four of the soldiers to join his team. The senior high constable will arm and command the remaining four. (the individual taking the trial cannot choose the senior high constable for his team.) Ten battles shall be waged. You must win at least five of these battles. Then you will fight each constable and templar in a single blue dual twice. You must win at least 50% of these battles to pass this trial.

-An individual can only take any particular trial once every 2 months. If you fail a trial, you will have to wait two months before you can retry.

-Trials are to be held on the day of council. Council will begin after the trials have been concluded.

I definitely believe there should be a combination of both. We could probably figure a way to smoothly combine the two this saturday
